Since 2023 non-EU students pay full tuition in Norway, so we start by honestly comparing your Norway plan against tuition-free Germany or cheaper options — and only proceed if Norway genuinely wins for your field.
English Master's typically ask IELTS 6.5. Norwegian is not needed for the degree, but basics help part-time work and daily life.
Norway's non-EU deadlines are the earliest in Europe — many close 1 December for the next August. Missing them costs a full year.
Apply directly on each university's Søknadsweb portal with transcripts, diploma, SOP and English proof. Some programmes ask for course-by-course descriptions — tedious but decisive.
With your offer, plan tuition (NOK 80k–280k/yr) plus the UDI living amount honestly. Some universities offer partial waivers — we check each one.
Apply online via UDI, showing admission, paid/payable tuition, housing and funds of ≈ NOK 151,690–170,000 for the year (the exact rate updates annually — always check UDI). Funds usually go to a Norwegian account or a university deposit account.
Register with the police within a week, get your residence card, and note students can work 20 h/week. After graduating you can switch to a 12-month job-seeker permit.
